Jane Connor was Managing Director and Publisher at Craig Potton Publishing from 2007 until 2012. She is currently on sabbatical, but intends to keep her publishing connection with Craig Potton Publishing when she returns to Nelson. Over nearly three decades in publishing, she has worked in editorial and management roles for several major publishing companies as well as spending periods working freelance as an editor and designer. She was co-founder of Godwit Press (now an imprint of Random House New Zealand), Publishing Director of Random House New Zealand, and Executive Vice-President and Publisher of Timber Press (Portland, Oregon) before moving to Nelson to work for Craig Potton Publishing.

Jane has a particular interest in natural history books, especially those on New Zealand native plants and other botanical subjects. Such complex books appeal to her interest in book design, photography, plants and the challenge of packaging information in an accessible and attractive way.
